Welcome to your Sri Lanka tour! Upon your arrival, you will meet your friendly tour operator and tour guide at the airport for a traditional welcome. From there, they will escort you to the coach to begin your journey to Kandy. On the way to Kandy, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. It is a breeding and conservation institute for wild Asian elephants. Next, we go to watch the Kandyan Cultural Show. It showcases traditional Sri Lankan dances, music and costumes. After the show, head to the Temple of Tooth Relic. It is one of the most important religious sites in Sri Lanka. Finally, you can visit the Buddhist library and go to one of the seven museums in Kandy to find out about Sri Lanka's history, art and culture.
After breakfast, head to Tissamaharama.On the way visit Gem Museum. There you can learn about the history and process of Sri Lankan gems. Next, visit the tea factory. You can take a tour of the factory, learn about the process of tea manufacturing and taste some fresh and flavorful tea which is locally grown in the area. Next we head to Seetha Amman Temple. According to Hindu mythology, this temple is believed to be the place where the princess Seetha was held captive. Lastly ,visit Ravana Waterfalls. If time permits, visit the Tissamaharama Monastery in the evening.
Early morning, head towards Yala National Park. This park is famous for its leopards, elephants, and a variety of birds . Enjoy a morning safari and capture the beauty of wildlife while also experiencing the fresh jungle air. After the safari, depart to Galle Fort and explore the UNESCO world heritage site. Visit the Dutch reformed church and the lighthouse. Take a stroll down the ramparts to enjoy some scenic views. Finally, arrive at the hatchery and see the turtles in their various stages of development and also learn about their conservation efforts.
After breakfast, leave for Colombo. First, visit Independence Square. It is an iconic landmark with a lot of historical significance for the country. Next, visit Gangaramaya Temple, a famous Buddhist temple with exquisite architecture and craftsmanship. After the temple, explore the museum. It is a great place to learn about the history of Sri Lanka. The museum has a collection of artifacts, antiques, and other items. Next, visit Viharamahadevi Park. The largest and the most beautiful park in Colombo. End your day with a visit to the floating market, which is situated in the Pettah area. It is a great place to experience local culture and shop for souvenirs like handicrafts, batik or spices.
